Our Philosophy: Beyond AAFCO Minimums
We ensure every bag of Grand Future Dog Food strictly adheres to AAFCO nutrient profiles to guarantee a complete, balanced, and safe meal for all life stages. AAFCO provides the essential safety floor for pet nutrition.
Our philosophy, however, aims for the ceiling of optimal canine health.
The current AAFCO guidelines focus on nutrient minimums, and treat all protein sources equally on paper. In practice, we believe the source and bioavailability of nutrients matter significantly more.
We choose to prioritize animal-based proteins and fats because, in our experience as breeders, a dog’s digestion is optimized for meat. We believe that relying heavily on plant concentrates or synthetic nutrients places an undue burden on their system over time.
We invest in high-quality gress-fed beef ingredients because we believe in feeding dogs the diet nature intended, not just a lab-created minimum requirement. This approach aligns with our goal of promoting longevity and vitality in our own breeding program.
Reference Feeding Guide
Quick Facts
Transition from raw: Divide your current raw meat serving weight by 3. Each pound of Grand Future air-dried meat is made from 3 lbs of raw beef & organs. 30 lbs of raw meat is comparable to one 10 lb bag of Grand Future Dog Food. 12 oz of raw beef is roughly equivalent to 4oz of our food, which is 1 feeding cup by volume.
Transition from kibble like Hill's, Royal Canin, Purina Pro Plan: Reduce volume by 25%. Replace each 1 cup with 3/4 cup.
Number of Portions: Each 10 lb bag contains about 40 standard 8oz volume cups.
Each cup of Grand Future Dog Food weighs about 4 ounces or 113 grams.
Typical Consumption by 110-120 lb Adult American Bulldogs: About 24 lbs per month (or 40 lbs per 7 weeks).
Please Note:
All dogs have different levels of activity and metabolism. This is a general guide applicable to Grand Future American Bulldogs who typically weigh 105-130 lbs at maturity. Please contact us for individual guidance.
Just put Grand Future Dog Food into the bowl right from the bag; no need to rehydrate, but you can add water if you wish - some dogs prefer that while others don't. Our air-dried beef food does not expand in the stomach like kibble.
Your dog's stool will be smaller and darker in color compared to kibble-feeding.
Same stool consistency and texture as from raw beef consumption.
